Love stories is a series of posters created using Instagram’s stories function, which focus on the emotional labour of mothering. It seeks to reflect on the invisible workloads of both parenting and being online, as social media platforms turn everyday activities into marketable content. As such it uses a social media format to articulate the anxiety of parenting and the ‘motherload’ - the hidden emotional labour undertaken, principally by mothers, in managing a household and maintaining harmonious familial relationships.
