Constellations of care (2024)
Giclée print on Epson Premium Semi Gloss photo paper, mounted on aluminium; 39.5 x 30.4 cm

The image is based on the constellations of chicken pox spots on my son’s back, which I photographed every day to check whether new ones were appearing. It alludes to the way that looking after the young, sick, elderly or infirm can become your whole universe when you’re in a caring role. Exhibited as part of Nurture: An exhibition about motherhood and caregiving, Woodend Gallery, Scarborough, UK.
